Tuesday 15th March – walk **** – Nacton Shores – sunny and mild.

Another sunny, mild day with light winds, even managed to do my exercises in the back garden after breakfast with Mag once again doing a little pottering in the garden, her many seeds are shooting well now! After mixing with someone who tested positive for covid we cancelled our usual Tuesday visit to an old friend and decided to take our lunch to Nacton Shores. We arrived at 1.15 and it was nice and quiet, parking easily and were soon at our seat with lovely views over the River Orwell towards Pin Mill, not Mags favourite as the tide was low but I like a bit of mud as do the birds with some noisy curlews about! We enjoyed our yummy cheese and pickle roll with a deep blue sky with some cool clouds:) I happened to look behind us towards the impressive Broke Hall just as 7 deer run across spooked by a low flying small aircraft, we then watched them jump over a fence before disappearing! We then walked upstream towards Ipswich through the woods, past the field of dead trees and onto the beautiful thatched cottage where we sit on the old concrete pool and have our orange watching a bait digger out in the mud! We find some nice pieces of driftwood which we carry back for Mags Garden. We then return by the same route with my heel not playing up too much! Then home for cuppa and homemade cake and sort my pics out and for the second day running get one on the local weather forecast, the BBC this time:) Tomorrow looks like rain before the sun hopefully returns with a small hope of some easterly winds for the weekend, fingers crossed.

PS - forgot to mention, the the way back to the van we spotted several miner bees digging in the path, amazing to watch and so pretty too:)
